I know you’re excited to see your final images, so here’s a behind-the-scenes look at exactly what happens after your session, why a little patience during busy season is worth it, and how your memories go from camera click to polished keepsake. Step 1 — Uploading & Backing Up
The moment I get home, your photos are treated like royalty. I have one huge fear in life — and it’s not spiders or running out of coffee (although running out of coffee is a close second)… it’s losing your images. The second your session ends, your files get uploaded and backed up like Fort Knox for memories:
Immediate upload: Your photos go straight to my main hard drive.
First backup: A second copy goes onto an external drive — just in case my cat decides to redecorate my office.
Cloud backup: Finally, I upload everything online, so your photos are doubly, triply, quadruply safe.
Why all the backups? Because the thought of sending a client a message saying, “HEYYYY… funny story… I lost your pictures” is literally my nightmare.
Step 2 — Culling: Finding the Best Shots
This is the part where I channel my inner detective-slash-art-critic-slash-memory-keeper to hunt down the photos that truly tell your story. Imagine me scrolling through hundreds (sometimes thousands) of images — the blinks, the mid-laugh faces, accidental test shots of my feet, the random blurry coffee cup — all to find those magical frames where the light hits just right, your smile is 100% genuine, and the whole photo feels like you.
It’s part art, part caffeine, part snack-fueled determination, and about 90% me whispering “oh my gosh, THIS ONE!” at my computer like it’s a tiny puppy I’m trying to train.

Step 3 — Editing & Enhancing

This is the part of the process where I hunker down like a creative goblin surrounded by coffee cups, half-eaten snacks, and whatever show I’m totally not rewatching for the fifth time playing quietly in the background for emotional support.
Sometimes, I swap the TV for a good playlist — because nothing gets me in the editing zone like a mix of moody acoustic songs, throwback jams, and the occasional dance break that no one but my dog witnesses.

Each image goes through its own little makeover: I adjust lighting, perfect colors, clean up tiny distractions, and make sure everything flows together in that warm, natural, storytelling style you know me for. It’s not a quick click-and-done process — it’s hours of fine-tuning, fueled by caffeine, music, and moments of me gasping, “Oh my gosh, this one’s so good!” to an empty room.
